Our needs for June are:
cereal
pork & beans
tuna
ramen
We are also in dire need of paper and plastic grocery bags. You can drop them off during our normal working hours.
Thank you for your support!
So, to start out the day, I would like to share numbers with you!
Through the month of March, we gave out 1,218 food baskets that fed 2,400 people compared to 1,051 food baskets that fed 2,267 people through that same time frame in 2022.
So far this month (April 1-17), we have already given out 301 food baskets that have fed 610 people.
With the extra pandemic monies now gone, the amount of food stamps people receive has been cut back considerably. The effect has been an increase in the amount of food we haven given out.
Thought I would share! Have a great day everyone.
Are you wondering what to do with your paper grocery bags? I have a solution for you - you can bring them in to Help House, any time we are open, and drop them off. We use the bags for our "food baskets" and are always looking for them. Thanks bunches and have a great day!
Now that the dust has settled, here are the numbers for 2022:
# of food boxes - 4,991
# fed with those boxes - 10,445
Homeless served - 958
# of people benefitting from our bakery and produce - 30,127 (which is donated by NAS Commissary, Haggen, Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Whidbey Coffee (both locations), Starbucks (both locations), Honeymoon Bay, and from those that bring in vegetables from private gardens and fruit picked from their trees)
We were also able to assist 39 people with dental and prescription assistance with our North Whidbey Medical Help fund.
Help House could not continue with our mission of helping those in need without the generosity of this wonderful community. Thank you all for your support for the last 45+ years.
Thank you to all who have used our PayPal link to make donations. I would just like to make everyone aware that if you have a g-mail account we are not able to send a "thank you" via e-mail. For whatever reason, we are unable to send e-mails to those accounts. If you need a receipt for the donation, please contact us at 360-675-0681 and I can mail one to you.
Thank you again for your generosity, and may you all have a happy, healthy 2023.
North Whidbey Help House receives 96.41% of our funding through public support with the remaining 3.51% coming from the WA state Department of Agriculture through the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP)
